Saran River, Dhamadka

Saran, was a river in Dhamadka. All the ajrakh work was carried out in its continuous flowing water until 1990. In 1990 the river completely dried up and till today it shows no sign of its helpful waters. Below are some pictures of the river and the ajrakh work carried out in it before it dried.

Flowing water is a significant requirement in the making of ajrakh. Post 1990, arrangements have been made using tube wells and water pumps to make the water fall from a height thus achieving the necessary flow. Below are the pictures of the current washing arrangements.
